About me

Hello, my name is Jane.  Welcome.

I live in outback NSW on a farming property with my family.  I have two children, a daughter who is fifteen and a son who is twelve.  My life revolves around supporting my farming husband, baking bread, growing vegetables, taking photos and cooking…always cooking.  I also contribute recipes and photos to Graziher magazine.

I believe in real butter, vintage picnic ware, cooking from scratch, making tea in a proper teapot, Vegemite on toast, winter weekends spent cooking with fire, children playing outdoors and a cold beer at the end of the day.

When this little blog began I would share some simple recipes and a few photos of dishes I had cooked or vegetables I had grown.  As my interest in photography grew, my blog became a place I could share my photos with the wider world.

Nowadays, I share a little bit of everything including country life, home grown food, baking, reading, family life and community events.

Baking sourdough bread is a big part of my life and this blog has helped me to connect with other like-minded bread bakers.  I have been experimenting with sourdough for about six years now and although I am no expert, I can usually produce a reasonable loaf.

My main purpose within these pages is to connect with friends, in both a real life and online sense.   This blog motivates me to improve my writing and photography and gives me a place to share my thoughts and current projects.

Sometimes people ask me about my camera.  I use a Canon 5D camera and I am currently teaching myself to edit in Lightroom.

Thank you for calling in, I hope I see you again!
