Life is jam-packed at the moment. The school holidays are in sight, farm life is busy and Flour and Fire Day is almost here. Preparations have started with a batch of home-made pasta for the bakers
to enjoy for lunch on the day.
Mum has recently visited us. We spent time in the garden, walked, cooked, sat by the fire and tried to make the most of the quick visit. Mum picked these pretty wild flowers in the paddock near our house.
We have had some dramatic fog which even makes the cobwebs look impressive. Thanks to Terry for these photos.
I leave you with a question. How do you view your blogs? I use the Blogger Dashboard which has had a few hiccups lately. Is there a better way? I need a simple way of viewing and commenting on my favourite blogs without having to go through multiple links and steps. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Friends, enjoy the rest of your week.
Chookyblue......
good luck with your bread day……….I can smell it already………….
I use feedly for tracking all my blogs……….it uses your google login so you don't need to remember another password etc………
Jane S
Thank you for your comments. With regards to Feedly, after viewing blogs there, is it necessary to then click through to the actual blog site to make a comment?

I use bloglovin' to see all the blogs I follow.
Jane S
Thank you!

i love fine fog droplets on cobwebs too. or on the bare trees that have lots there autumn leaves – it looks like they are bedecked in chandelier crystals.
and your mum's wildflower posy is pretty. what colours and delicate blossoms.
i tend to just keep my fave blogs as bookmarks, hyper-organised into folders (food/AUS, food/OS – for overseas – garden/AUS and so on). so if i'm in the mood for the kiwi garden blogs, i can go to them straightaway. i don't like having my inbox filled with email subscriptions so the bookmark system works well enough for me, even if i get to posts a few days or a week late.
Jane S
Thanks e. The bookmark system is a good one and I am super impressed with the way you organise them! I think I might try that. I don't want an inbox full of subscriptions either…this is part of the reason I haven't strayed from my current way of viewing 🙂
Zara
That's delicious looking pasta. I'm sure the bakers will be very appreciative.
I thought it was just my dashboard that was playing up. I use both Blogger and bloglovin to keep up with everyone latest posts.

Jane S
Thanks Zara…and I wondered if it was just my dashboard? Mine seems to be fixed now x
frogpondfarm
Hey Jane … just gorgeous pics as usual. I'm WP so I view them in my WP reader 🙂
Jane S
Thanks Julie!
Bizzy Lizzy's Good Things
A gorgeous post, as always Jane. Glad you had some time with your mum. I use bloglovin mostly.
Jane S
Thanks Lizzy, Bloglovin seems to be a popular choice!

Oh yum…I am looking forward to lunch Jane! Those wildflowers bring back some great memories! See you soon xx
Jane S
Look forward to sharing lunch with you Kate x
Chantille Fleur
Oh I love the spider web photos! Wish I could be there for your Flour & Fire day! It looked like so much fun last time 🙂
I view my blogs in blogger dashboard normally too…..it's been playing up for me lately though too. Most of the people who comment on my blog also have blogs I love reading, so I tend to follow the links from there, or I just remember to visit blogs. I think Bloglovin' is supposed to be good? I'm sorry I'm not much help 🙂
Sarah xx
Jane S
Thanks Sarah…there are so many options for blog following isn't there! x

Lovely photography. Love homemade pasta.mmm I too have had problems with being able to read my blog list I just presumed it was my blog but I see it is not so. Everything is back to normal now. I have no solution to your question
Jane S
Thanks Monique!

This week I made homemade pasta for the first time and was amazed at how simple it is. Definitely a bit more time consuming than opening a box of dried pasta, but not the painstaking process that a lot of people think it is. I use Feedblitz for most of the the blogs. You do have to click through to comment.
Jane S
Thanks Katie…I think practice makes perfect (or better at least!) with homemade pasta. It is not difficult is it? I find I just need a little time and clear bench space 🙂
Donna
Hi Jane, gorgeous flowers picked by your mum. I love sitting by the fire in winter – there is nothing quite like it. Hope you enjoy the school holidays. ps I usually use my Blogger dashboard to scroll through blogs, but I agree it has been unreliable lately. Maybe I need to update something?! xx
Jane S
Thanks Donna, I am almost certain I need to update something…so many options out there! x
Anne
Aren't cobwebs amazing? Love your arrangement of wildflowers.
I use WordPress reader for WP blogs, which works really well and also lets me know if someone replies to one of my comments, which saves me having to go back if I've asked a question. WP Reader sometimes holds up Blogger posts so I use Bloglovin for them with the exception of two that I use email subscriptions for because I don't want them to get lost in the system (one of which is The Shady Baker of course!)
Jane S
Thanks Anne, so grateful and happy to hear than you have me in your email subscriptions! WP reader sounds very good.
Kylie
Such beautiful flowers Jane! So petite and colourful. Im a big fan of Bloglovin. Keeps everything in order for when I have time to sit down and read. I find it sometimes doesnt allow me to leave comments but other than that I love it! I look at it like my subscription to all my fav blogs xxx
Jane S
Thanks Kylie, great to hear from you!
cityhippyfarmgirl
Jane I'm a bit late to this one but Feedly is dead easy. No fuss, no fluffing, just all there at your clickyness…(yes, that should definitely be a word.)
Jane S
Thanks Brydie, clickyness is a great word x

I use the blogger dashboard too Jane. I'm a bit confused by all the options out there now!
Your pictures are gorgeous, especially the spider webs.
… and seeing all the delicious bread and pasta around here is the first time I've been tempted away from my gluten free ways in weeks!
rachel xo
Jane S
Thanks Rachel…I think you must have incredible will power to turn your back on flour! Hooray for the old Blogger dashboard, pleased to hear I am not the only one confused by the other options x
