I am relishing the gentle light and cool days of June.
There is always bread.
Endless views on afternoon walks. ย I need to just get out and walk more often.
A tidy back verandah. ย This scenario never lasts long.
A collection of old and not so old enamel cups.
Camp oven cooking and weekend dinners by the fire.
How is winter looking at your place?
Friends, have a great week and stay warm.

Ohhh Jane, beautiful, as usual. Love the enamel mugs – isn't there always just something familiar about them that's like having a drink with an old friend?
And a clean veranda, now that is a treat! Aside the the kitchen sink, it always seems like the first place to be dirty again. Love a clean veranda, no matter how fleeting!
Jane S
Thanks for calling in Bess, lovely to hear from you, yes the clean verandah certainly does create a sense of control and order, even for a short time ๐

what amazing photos jane..they could be in 'country style'..although you could do your own book..i hope you have a lovely week too..x
Jane S
Thanks so much Jane. Your intuition is very good…stay tuned for Country Style x
cityhippyfarmgirl
I agree with Jane's comment above. The photos could be straight out of a magazine or tourism Outback NSW brochure….I'd certainly visit!
Jane S
Thanks so much Brydie. I feel the same way about your beautiful photos from the beach and city in your backyard! x
Chantille Fleur
Lovely Jane! Winter here is looking quite cold, drizzly and very grey. There is the odd patch of sunshine but it's very windy. Great for wood fires and cups of tea though ๐
Happy week!

A perfect excuse for fires and tea Sarah…I agree! x
Shell McClure
More beautiful photos! I love your veranda! I hear Country Style is featuring a Broken Hill stations home – I hope they found out about yours!
Jane S
They did find us Shell…I can barely believe it myself. A few other local stations are featured too which is lovely! x

I always feel refreshed after a visit to your place in the country, Jane! Beautiful images, beautiful vistas… love the old enamel cups too! Thanks so much for sharing… I'm stuck indoors with a busted foot… op tomorrow, can hardly wait to get back outside! Have a lovely week xo
Jane S
Thanks Lizzy…I hope you are on the mend soon x

i have to say, here it's bleak and grey and not half as beautiful as it is at your place.
your pic of the tidy verandah has given me an idea for my outdoor area – a long bench. thank you for the decorating inspiration, jane ๐
and i second what tea with hazel says. when you publish your book, let me know. i'm pre-ordering now.
Jane S
My pleasure e! You are very kind but in reality I don't think I have a book in me…all my material is on my blog ๐
Katie @ Life With The Crew
A lovely collection of pictures! Love the plaid shirts on your little ones in front of the fire. Very calming images.
Jane S
Thanks Katie, I appreciate you calling in!
Anne
It all looks beautiful Jane. Does your verandah wrap right around the house? Verandahs seem so romantic – probably because we don't have them over here.
Jane S
Thank you Anne, it wraps around half of the house which is enough to maintain really!

Hey Jane .. just beautiful pics as always. We have had some gorgeous days and some horrors. Ah, wintertime …
Jane S
Thanks Julie, that certainly is wintertime isn't it?
lucent imagery
Ahhh what beauty. It seems I'm going to have to seek out a certain magazine too! Winter is going to be different for us this year as we have just moved into a beautiful house in the suburbs which is all cottage-y on the outside and a modern kitchen, uncluttered, wooden floors on the inside. We are housesitting and I am pretending I know what I'm doing in the garden! Also…Lying in the grass with my dog to warm up in the sun. Gazing at the morning fog over the hill. Deeply breathing in the smell of wooden fires nearby. Typing at a beautiful wooden table. Happy winter to you. x
Jane S
Oh Lucent…you paint a beautiful image! It sounds like a lovely house to be taking care of x
The Desert Echo
Lovely photos! Winter looks pretty where you are. It's hard for me to imagine that it is winter in Australia while I am travelling, it feels like the wind down to Christmas with the summer heat here, it will be a shock to return to grey Melbourne in august and still four months to chrissy!
Jane S
Thank you! Adjusting to the seasons from the other side of the world must be tricky. Safe travels ๐

Jane, I know it's hard work and not always fun, but you do make rural life look like sheer bliss and contentment. I'm sure it really is most of the time! ๐
Jane S
Thank you Celia, we are very lucky x
