Good things at home this week

?>

I have been playing with my camera and trying hard to use the manual setting rather than the fully automatic setting.  The back of our horse shed was used for photography practise.

We had guests for lunch and I cooked up a storm, including these lamb chops crusted with coriander seeds, cumin seeds, sesame seeds and pistachios.

There were home made sausage rolls for the kids.

Our guests arrived with a bunch of amazing flowers, home made preserved lemons, an okra pod full of seed and some inspiring reading material on loan.  Very gracious guests indeed!

The kids and I got out and about on Sunday morning and helped my farming husband put these curious cows into the yards.

What good things have been happening at your place this week?

Jane

What kind of camera do you have Jane? I bought a newbie recently – we're not getting along very well at the moment.

I love cows…they just look so friendly.

Mel, I have a Canon 1100D. I love it but feel I am not using it to its full potential! What is your newbie?

Your photos look great! The automatic setting on my camera often makes for blurry pictures so I usually go for manual too and there are a lot of times when things are over or under exposed…. but when you get that perfect shot it's worth it 🙂

i love the idea of preserved lemons – i love lemons – but i never actually use them! i agree with others, your photos are lovely and the light is so very different to down here at the moment (go to work in the dark, come home in the dark). so not much is happening outside at the moment. hobart in winter = hibernation time!

Ohh the sausage rolls do look very tasty, and the lamb chops. I love the flowers.
I got a box of bulbs and plants in the mail, so some planting will be done this weekend.
