A batch of sourdough coming out of the oven…just because some days I simply must bake bread.

Vegetables from the garden.  Summer perfection!

A little reading material for inspiration both in the garden and the kitchen.

Black turtle beans soaking that I recently made into a healthy side dish served with a tomato and cucumber salad, topped with natural yoghurt and coriander.

This is my first attempt at seed saving from my current tomato crop.  I will have to wait until next tomato season to see how successful I have been.

    Jane, thank you so much for letting us peek into your kitchen! What treasure you have there! I know exactly what you mean about needing to bake bread – some days the pull is really strong. And your summer crops are magnificent! We've given up on tomatoes in the garden, but it's lovely to see what other Aussies can grow! 🙂

    Your bread is a work of art! I can almost taste it. And your garden produce- that eggplant is so pretty and the rest is so fresh and I wish we weren't in the middle of winter!

    Your bread looks so good, as do your vegetables. Good luck with your roma seeds, I'm sure they'll be fine if you store them dry, cool and dark.

    I love the Feast magazine – though somehow I have managed to miss this one! I'll be remedying that tomorrow! Your bread looks divine – I can only begin to imagine how great it smelled when taking that piccie!

    wow look at that bread! simply perfect. i just started baking some recently – with a simple no knead recipe… good so far, but hope to learn more.
