Breakfast and the beach in Adelaide

?>

For me a trip to Adelaide is always exciting.  It means spending precious time with my Mum and indulging in all the good things the city has to offer.

Going out for breakfast and soaking up the city atmosphere in some of our favourite cafes is a simple pleasure.

Walking on the beach, talking, digging, playing and collecting shells is both relaxing and invigorating, regardless of the weather.

I love our little part of the outback but a few days in the city fills me with ideas, inspiration and a deeper appreciation for all the good things in my life.

Have you travelled anywhere lately?
Were you happy to be home again?
Do you have certain things you always like to do when you travel?

I really enjoy travelling. We had a fantastic time last year driving from Adelaide to Sydney and I enjoyed the vastness and the difference between places like Mildura or Wagga Wagga and home. I was reluctant to end the holiday and come home, but as soon as our plane was above the familiar patchwork of fields, I was glad to be back in England. So I suppose one of the best things about travel is that it makes me appreciate home.
I've only recently found your blog, but love reading about your life.

oh..jane..i am filled with emotion because my family is from brighton and it's where i spent most of my childhood..my mother, as a young woman, used to dive from the former roof at the end of the jetty..when she died 3 years ago our family came from near and far to scatter her ashes from the jetty that she had loved so much..my grandmother hazel after whom my blog is named lived off jetty road and i used to walk to the jetty with her regularly..

your holiday sounds perfect..seeing your mum, coffee, food, sand, jetties, the sea air..x
