Good things at home

?>
Sadly the school holidays are almost over.  Setting our own rhythm over the holidays and making the most of this beautiful autumn weather has been pure joy!
We have planted lots of garlic from the Diggers Club.

We have been testing and experimenting with our own Chai tea blend and a Beetroot and Chocolate Brownie for an upcoming local market I am involved in.

We have been picking beans from the vegetable garden and saltbush from the paddock.   If you sometimes feel the need to simplifying modern living this book is an inspiring and practical place to start.

Of course I have also baked a batch of sourdough.  This time I made a few big loaves and some little lunch or dinner rolls.  Some dough ‘balls’ have also gone into the freezer to take out later and roll into pizza bases.

What is happening at your place?

Has your home had a good rhythm this week?
Happy Sunday friends.

Good morning Jane and also to the little cutie in the photo! I remember what it was like to be home with my children over the holidays… such a delicious time. I love all the things you have been sharing here. Best wishes for a happy weekend.

What do you do with the saltbush – I know sheep love it, but do you use it in your cooking?

Thank you Jane, Lizzy and Mel for for calling in this morning. I don't cook with saltbush, I just put bunches of it in the house as a rustic flower arrangement! Maybe I should experiment with some in my cooking?

The trouble with your beautiful blog Jane, is that it makes me feel hungry!

We've had our first week back at school this last week. I dreaded it coming, but we fell right back into it. Lovely pictures. Wish I was your neighbour. That sourdough would have me sitting in your kitchen most days, me thinks!

I'm back from a week away and week's of planning for said week away, so this week, I am hoping I can get the family – and myself – back into a rhythm of sorts.

Jane, I love that book too! Just purchased it on my last trip to town after reading Rhonda's blog for the past couple of years!!! Can't wait to grab a bit more Shady Yards sourdough on our next visit to the hill.

Beautiful photo's Jane, love the blue/grey of the saltbush. Rhythm is missing at ours, we feel like the DJ is scratching the record back and forward!

They really are good things at your home, Jane. Love the sourdough, it looks magnificent as always! Good luck with the garlic, we didn't plant any this year as it's been so wet!

Those golden sourdough rolls are making me want to get back into sourdough! I lost my starter over a year ago and haven't made any since- beautiful.
