Hello friends
I am fortunate enough to have made a guest appearance on my friend Lizzy’s blog. In this post I have shared a lamb recipe, photos and thoughts about our life on the land. Thank you Lizzy for giving me this opportunity.
Bizzy Lizzy’s Good Things is bursting with many other food stories, photos, recipes, events, market people, book reviews, a seasonal produce guide and more. Lizzy is also currently running a very generous competition, call in and take a look.
I hope you are having a happy, restful weekend whatever you may be doing.

We are having lamb for dinner tonight. Chump chops believe it or not, Jane. (as a kid I hated those dried out tough old chump chops us kids would get at people's bbq's – while the grown-ups got steak!) My husband cooks them slowly as you would lamb shanks, in a delicious garlicy tomato sauce. The meat just falls off the bone – nothing like the chumps of my memories!
Off to check out Lizzy's blog…

That sounds delicious Kylie and the perfect way to deal with chump chops! It is funny…when I was growing up shanks were always given to the dogs, now of course I cook with them and they are pricey to buy aren't they?
Kylie
yep, I can't believe how pricey shanks are at the butchers (and ours usually gives us a discount!) Chump chops are still cheap though, they'll probably be the next big thing though…Ha!

Hi Jane, what a beautiful and inspiring post you've done over at Lizzy's blog. You convey your life in the country in such a warm way, your farm is a credit to you and your husband. The lamb and sourdough rolls look so delicous, you have such a wonderful simple lifestyle that is so foreign to me here in the city.
Jane S
Thank you Catherine, you are very kind! It is a great lifestyle but like everyone we have our crazy times too. But, we are very fortunate to have so much freedom and space…sometimes writing a blog like this reminds me of all the good things 🙂

Dearest Jane, I wanted to say thank you ever so much for so generously sharing your photos and recipe on my blog. I am a huge fan of all that you do. We are singing from the same hymn book, as they say, you in the country, me in the city. Would love to come and visit you some day. Thank you again xox
Jane S
