Cool dark walls provide a moody backdrop for pretty flowers and glittering ornaments. It is always so exciting to see a new shop open in a country town, best wishes to the Botanica team. This little space is a breath of fresh air in our main shopping strip.
These beautiful, golden Trevatt apricots in my garden are destined for stewed fruit, drying, gifting and perhaps a fruit tart or two.
Red dust and a soft pink sunrise as my husband takes off in his plane for another day of station work.
Sunrise at the horse yards while Sugar takes it all in. The only way to manage horse riding in our summer is to start early. Catching the pretty morning light is a bonus.
Feral goats come in an endless assortment of colours but I thought this little mob seemed nicely colour coordinated.
I hope you have some pretty colour in your world!
Happy weekend, friends x

Beautiful photos Jane! That little flock of goats is lovely – they look like they are having a meeting of some sort 🙂
I'd love a piece of that tart. Our peaches are all finished now 🙂
Have a lovely weekend,
Sarah x

I think they were having a meeting Sarah!

Beautiful pics as always, and I'd love the recipe for that gorgeous tart 🙂

I might post the recipe in this space Deb, it is easy and delicious. Thanks for calling in 🙂

That tart sounds nice and the apricots, yum! I love the pic of your hubby taking off. Stay cool!
Jane S
Thank you!

I love the contrast between our worlds Jane. While you're eating nectarines and apricots, keeping cool and out of the sun, we are eating apples and mince pies, cosying up by the stove, dodging the rain and hoping the sun will show its face! Beautiful photos as always. Sam x
Jane S
Thank you Sam, seeing the contrasts is one of the best parts of blogging isn't it? x

I'm very envious of your apricot crop Jane. I have my fingers crossed for next year…beautiful illustrations of summer xx
Jane S
Thank you Kate xx
Sarah
Such lovely photos! Thanks for sharing. My hubby would inhale that tart!
Jane S
The tart didn't last long here Sarah!

That is a lovely lovely tart. It's looks like almond meal or is just flour. Gosh, how cool is it that your hubby has a plane! You must work very hard with that much land. Also one more question, if you don't mind. Are feral goats bad for the land? Stunning photos as always!
Jane S
Thank you Zena. The tart has mostly almond meal in it. The goats are fairly destructive to the land. They eat the grass and shrubs and drink the water that our sheep and cattle could otherwise be eating/drinking. But, the goats are also worth quite a bit of money (their meat is exported) so we learn to live with them in some sort of balance.

Jane, a beautiful post, as always… and how delicious does your tart look! Wishing you the compliments of the coming season xx
Jane S
Thank you Lizzy!

are the goats gathering beneath the tree to escape the heat? what a sweet group, even if I guess they are pests (being feral?).
my mouth is now watering for nectarines – still a month or two off yet in Tassie. i'm sure that tart was delicious xx enjoy your week jane.
Jane S
Yes, they were certainly enjoying the shade! I hope you are enjoying your festive season x
Anne
That's a delicious looking tart. Lucky you to grow your own apricots. Whenever I buy (imported) apricots they're disappointingly soft and woolly; I'm sure yours are juicy and good.
Our colour is grey skies but twinkling lights on the trees and a fire inside bring a little colour.
Jane S
I can only imagine that your twinkling tree is gorgeous Anne! x

So much beauty in one spot! I'm envious of your apricots. My saplings died a few years ago but I'm going to replace them in the spring. Your tart is artwork. Lovely!
Jane S
Thank you so much Robin!
